My name is Major Dr. Kofi Sekyi-Aidoo (rtd)

-- I was born in Dunkwa-On-Offin on Friday 28th June 1940 at 11am in the morning.

-- My elementary education was at Presbyterian school at Dunkwa-On-Offin. I attended Methodist school till standard 2 (5th grade).

-- I moved to Cape-Coast in 1952 to continue my education at the Methodist school near Bakaano. I also attended and graduated from Sekondi College from 1958 to 1962.

-- After Sekondi college I was accepted into teachers training college and also won the Eastern European Scholarship to study medicine in Europe. I chose medical school and graduated as a medical doctor. I also joined the Ghana Armed Forces and rose to the rank of Major.

-- I married Emelia Effie Sekyi-Aidoo and had 6 children with her. We were married for over 40 years.

-- My father is the late Isaac William Amissah-Aidoo, and my mother is the late Hannah Aba Kokua Dadzie Amissah-Aidoo.

-- My father was born at Assin Kushea, which is part of the central region. He later became the Krontihene of Assin Kushea

--My grandfather (Papa Amissah's dad) traded in gun powder and related items and was based in Cape Coast.

-- My father was a successful Academic, Accountant, Cocoa Farmer and Timber Contractor. Papa Amissah owns the land and village of Amissakrom in the Central Region.
